Soil Sisters and Misters Garden Club

Grow Another Row Buffalo County
Plant extra in your garden to feed your neighbors!
Grow Another Row Buffalo County is a new community initiative that encourages gardeners and farmers to plant extra produce and donate the harvest to local food pantries and free-will market stands.
Food pantries consistently report that fresh fruits and vegetables are among the most needed and least donated items they receive. Grow Another Row Buffalo County is sharing an innovative way for local gardeners to use their expertise to directly address food insecurity of families in your community.
Most gardeners already know the joy of a bumper crop — more tomatoes than you know what to do with. With this initiative you can turn that abundance into something meaningful for families right here in our community, at a time when it is needed most!
How to get involved
Participating is easy!
Sign up to grow, volunteer in other ways, or stay in touch and get communication on when and what produce is being delivered. HERE
Gardeners are encouraged to:
-
Plant at an extra row (or a few extra plants) of any crop.
-
Let the campaign know you are participating through the Sign Up Form
-
We will follow up with registered participants to provide drop-off locations, pantry schedules, and any other details needed to make donating easy.
We are also looking for volunteers to help harvest larger gardens and keep an eye on the free produce market stands.
